Ambitious Dragon Returns to Top Form In Stewards Cup Win

Last years horse of the year in Hong Kong, Ambitious Dragon showed that he still has superstar potential with a solid win in the Stewards Cup.

Ambitious Dragon turned the tables on his opponents after 2 recent sub-par efforts, including a recent lackluster 4th place finish in the Hong Kong Cup.

Ambitious Dragon who raced mid-pack early in the race, was perfectly handled by Journeyman rider Douglas Whyte. With his sights set on Xtension who took the lead in early stretch, he quickly overtook that one and went on to a comfortable 1 1/4 length victory in the event.

Ambitious Dragon covered the 1600 meters in a time of 1:34.93 on a turf course rated good.

California Memory did make up good ground after being shuffled far back early, but he could not reach the winner this afternoon and had to settle for a minor placing.

The stewards cup is the first leg of the Hong Kong Triple Crown. Ambitious Dragon is set to make his next start in the Hong Kong Gold Cup. Which is the 2nd leg of the HK Triple Crown.

We wish him luck and will be watching intently.
